West Palm Beach, Florida – An employee is arrested and charged for using a company credit card to gamble

A man who was employed by Freshwater Electrics has been arrested and charged for using a company credit card to gamble at Palm Beach Kennel Club. According to police reports, Jayrol Abrego, 34, made seven unauthorized charges on the company credit card between August 6 and August 8, totaling $5,731.95. The surveillance footage that was obtained from the Palm Beach Kennel Club by detectives showed Abrego using the credit card to withdraw cash at the Palm Beach Kennel Club. When Mark Freshwater, the owner of Freshwater Electrics, saw the surveillance footage, he positively identified Abrego and told police that the card is only meant to be used for gas and company supplies. Abrego was charged with grand theft and transported to the Palm Beach County Jail where he is being held on a $21,000 bond.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff Department were dispatched to the Agua Caliente Casino on Tuesday the 16th of August to investigate a vehicle theft report. Following an investigation of the incident, the Palm Desert Burglary Suppression Unit identified the suspect as Mark Sexton (33) of Lancaster. Sexton was arrested on Thursday at his workplace for stealing a car from the parking structure at the Agua Caliente Casino. He was taken to the county jail and charged with vehicle theft and vehicle burglary.

On the 9th of August at approximately 11.35 p.m. two armed suspects robbed the Hilltop Station Casino that is located at 523 Hilltop Rd # B, Billings, MT 59105. While one suspect confronted a casino employee and demanded money, the other suspect confronted the two customers that were present at the time. One of the customers suffered a minor head injury when the suspect hit him over the head with a handgun. The suspects quickly exited the casino after stealing an undisclosed amount of money. Police have since released images of the two suspects as recorded by the casino’s surveillance cameras. A woman who won $3,000 by placing a late bet during a baccarat game thought she had the dealer fooled. The dealer did not remember her taking part in the game. Alerting his supervisor, the supervisor asked security to review the video surveillance footage. Upon reviewing the surveillance footage, the supervisor realized that the woman had placed the bet after the cards were revealed. Ngoc My Le, 46, of Auburn, Alabama was arrested on a felony charge of false pretense and taken to the Harrison County jail and held on a $10,000 bond. The illegal act of placing a bet after the outcome of a game is known is referred to as “late betting or past posting”.

For some unknown reason, an altercation took place among a group of men in the parking lot, near the Silver Nugget casino, when one man pulled out a gun and shot two men dead. The incident took place at around 4.00 a.m. Witnesses said that the altercation was the result of an argument over a craps game, but police did not confirm this information. The North Las Vegas Police Department don’t have any suspects in custody, and are appealing to the public for assistance in this matter. The Petaluma Police Department is looking for a woman who stole casino chips and a large amount of cash from a gambler’s purse. The victim’s purse was hanging on the back of her chair when the suspect sneaked up on her and took the purse to the restroom where she helped herself to the casino chips and cash in the purse. A few minutes later, the suspect returned the bag to the spot where she took it from. Most of the crime was captured on the casino’s surveillance footage. The suspect is described as an Asian woman in her 50’s. She is approximately 1.65 meters tall and weighs around 54.5 kilograms. Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact the Petaluma Police Department.

Mike Vassiliou, 60, of Bristol was driving his 2002 Toyota Rav4 north, into the path of an oncoming southbound Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority casino bus on Mohegan Sun Boulevard shortly before 3:45 a.m on Monday the 25th of July when the accident happened. The bus was unable to avoid Vassiliou’s car, resulting in a head-on collision. Vassiliou was declared dead at the scene, while the bus driver, Lloyd Gentles, 64, may have sustained an injury. There was one passenger on the bus at the time. He did not suffer any injuries. Police are currently investigating the vehicle accident and urge anyone with information about the collision to contact them immediately.

Naugatuck, Connecticut – Police take down an illegal gambling operation

Following a seven month investigation into illegal gambling that was taking place at the Main Street Social Club in Naugatuck located at 423 North Main Street, Naugatuck police and officers from the Connecticut State Police Statewide Organized Crime Task Force executed a search warrant at the club on Wednesday the 27th of July. As a result, multiple employees were arrested and accused of organizing and running an illegal gambling operation, while several players were issued with summons. The persons arrested and/or issued with summons included organizers, dealers, a waitress, and several players. Police also charged one juvenile in the process.
