Queens, New York – Police bust an illegal casino and arrest 16 people

On Wednesday the 25th of January, police officers from the NYPD Queens Vice Enforcement Squad converged on 83-27 Broadway and 83-31 Broadway, where they found evidence of an illegal gambling operation. During the course of the raid, police seized 18 gambling machines, various drugs including cocaine, methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia, plus $24,210 in cash. Sixteen people were arrested and charged with a number of offenses. Some of the charges include; criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance, possession of a gambling device, promoting gambling and possession of gambling receipts. Police have been monitoring these two locations for some time after being tipped off by a member of the public.

He wagered $35,000 in casino chips on single number 32. As the croupier spun the wheel and the ball, friends, players, casino staff and curious bystanders gathered closer and followed the small white ball as it spun, before it dropped and bounced around the roulette wheel. The ball finally landed on the number 32! Erupting in cheers and shouts of jubilation, the casino came to life as Bartelle and his friends hugged and danced to celebrate his $3.5 million win.

Redding, California – A man is shot in the Win River Casino parking lot

Police were contacted at approximately 1:20AM on Monday the 9th of January following reports of gunshots in the parking lot. When police arrived at the parking lot, they found victim Dustin Lloyd, 31 with a gunshot to his lower abdomen. Lloyd was transported to the Mercy Medical Center where he is in a stable condition. Suspect Justin Ryan Mulliken, 21, fled the scene and is currently wanted by authorities for the shooting. Mulliken is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office.

Victoria, Australia – Police seize $60K of heroin, 3 knives and $1,200 in casino chips

Victorian police have found and seized more than $60,000 worth of heroin, approximately $1,200 in casino chips, 3 knives, and a large amount of cigarettes that they suspect of being stolen. Responding to a call from a member of the public regarding suspicious activity in a hotel car park on the Princes Highway at Hallam, Operations Response Unit officers made their way to the car park where they found one man behaving suspiciously. While talking to the 39 year old man, one of the police officers noticed a large piece of tar-like substance, believed to be heroin, on the floor of the car. Following further investigation, police determined that the man was in possession of approximately $60K worth of heroin, $1,200 in casino chips, 3 knives and a large amount of cigarettes that are suspected of being stolen. The suspect was arrested and charged.
