Bethlehem, Pennsylvania – A Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem roulette player is charged with cheating

Lalit Kumar Taneja, 40, of New Hyde Park, New York was playing roulette at Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem at approximately 2.00 a.m. on Monday the 4th of July when he wagered $2,010 on the “third dozen,” numbers 25 through 36. When the ball landed on number 00, Taneja quietly removed his four purple $500 chips and two red $5 chips from the table. Sensing that something wasn’t quite right, the table games supervisor asked the casino to review surveillance video. The video footage confirmed that Taneja had in fact removed his chips after losing the wager. Although Taneja reimbursed the casino with $2,010 after police accused him of illegal trickery, Taneja was still charged with cheating at a table game of a licensed casino.

Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem is located at 77 Sands Blvd, Bethlehem, PA 18015
