Detroit, Michigan – A father left two young children in car while he gambled at MotorCity Casino

On Monday the 29th of August, shortly before 11:30 am, Detroit Police were called to a parking lot to investigate why there were two young children sitting alone in a car while the outside temperature was climbing to approximately 77 degrees. The children, a 2-year-old boy, and a 5-month-old boy were left alone in a 2011 Ford Focus somewhere between 15-30 minutes, while their 25 year old father, Montez D’Angelo Sistrunk gambled at MotorCity Casino. A casino employee noticed the children in the car and alerted a security guard. The security guard removed the children from the car and contacted the police. Montez D’Angelo Sistrunk was charged with two counts of second-degree child abuse and given a $75,000 bond. His preliminary hearing was set for the 13th of September.

MotorCity Casino is located at 2901 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48201
